2009 EAHS Data:

1,656 EA students were surveyed on March 24, 2009.

71% had NOT consumed alcohol in the last 30 days
81% had NOT smoked marijuana in the past 30 days
85% had NOT smoked cigarettes in the last 30 days

73% have NEVER smoked marijuana

77% have NEVER smoked cigarettes

Rationale for not using alcohol:

72% say “I don’t want to jeopardize my future plans (college, career, etc.)”

71% say “I don’t want to deal with the legal consequences if I get caught.”

67% say “I don’t want to disappoint my parents.”

67% say “It is bad for my health.”

62% say “I don’t want to get in trouble with my parents.”
